Pott Hall is situated above Leighton Reservoir in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near Masham, with spectacular views towards the east coast and Vale of York. It is part of a working cattle and sheep farm, run by the Patchett family, and has two self-catering holiday cottages of different characters on site.
Pott Hall was once a Grange of Fountains Abbey, supplying the Cistercian monks with produce from the farm. The nearest local centre is the historic market town of Masham, 6 miles away.
Children are welcome at Pott Hall, with travel cots and high chairs available in both cottages on request, and a stairgate available in the Barn. Sorry, it is not possible for pets to be accommodated and smoking is not permitted in the properties.
A shared utility room allows for a washing machine, condenser dryer, chest freezer, barbecue and some outdoor toys. An accessibility guide is available here. Normally, bookings are taken from Saturday to Saturday, although we welcome alternative requests and try to accommodate them.
What's on? Local events
- TV news – the Bilsdale tv mast fire in July 2021 still means that usual tv stations cannot be accessed. Through the wifi, smart tv should still be available, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, iplayer etc. Please bear with us as this affects North Yorkshore and Teesside and is beyond our control.
- August 2021 – Please note that whilst most places are ‘back to normal’, a lot of local businesses request the use of face masks to protect their staff. Please oblige where possible. Odd closures are experienced in local premises if they are facing unusual staff shortages.
